The Congregation of the Franciscan Sisters of St Aloysius Gonzaga, Puducherry a Catholic registered charitable entity committed to the cause of education and social transformation of the less privileged humanity, and women in particular in a rural environment was founded by Rev. Fr. Michael Ansaldo, SJ in 1775 at Puducherry. The austere life, the magnanimity of character and simplicity of Fr. Michael ANSALDO inspired many young women to give him helping hands and assist him in his special ministry for the abandoned. When Fr. Michael ANSALDO noticed that many young women were more than willing to dedicate their whole life for the sake of the service of the abandoned, he realized that his plans were beginning to bear the expected fruits. He utilized every opportunity to explain the love of God for humanity and especially for the sick and the poor, the abandoned and those who were marginalized in the society and expressed his desire to establish a congregation of sisters.
Education is the key for successful life. Here we endeavour to spread the light of education all around to reach the nook and corner of every village. It is our earnest effort to make our institutions with a difference and missioned to impart excellence in individuals and prepare world class citizens, professionals, leader, bureaucrats and intellectuals. We lay focus on all round development of a child where he/she will be physically strong and mentally healthy. Instead of making them contended with what they have learnt, we intensify their desire to learn more and more. This process of giving and taking education should never stop. British Prime Minister Tony Blair, when being asked about his three priorities of the government,
said, “Education, Education and Education.” This statement reveals a statesman’s worry for the present and the future. It is aphoristic rather than figurative. He knows very well how important education plays in building up individuals as well as a nation.
Gonzaga education aims at fostering that type of education which can develop our students capabilities and enhance and maximize their creativities. The Management, Parents, Students and the Teaching Fraternity of our institutions are a Team and complement each other’s efforts. We understand that Education is not just a process of giving knowledge for a high profiled job but a lifelong process which creates an understanding of moral and ethical values to guide and make our students morally upright citizens of the country. Therefore, we try to create an atmosphere of reverence for education and a healthy environment where academics,
sports and co-curricular Facilities mould our students and motivate them to be the brightest and the best.
May God bless all!
